WikiFundi is a platform that allows you to create Wikipedia articles offline.

WikiFundi helps you and your friends to create new articles, and work on them together, without needing access to Internet. You can only work on these articles when you are within range of the server hosting WikiFundi and only when it is switched on. Once you are happy with your article, then you will be able to copy and paste these completed articles into the main online Wikipedia space. Your contribution will be on Wikipedia for everyone to see. Naturally, you need to be connected to the Internet to copy your contribution onto Wikipedia !

Feel free to also use WikiFundi to collaboratively how to edit a page, a report or a story.

with WikiFundi?

WikiFundi is an offline editable environment that provides a similar experience to editing Wikipedia online.

How to create and modify pages

WikiFundi is a wiki, which means you can modify all pages by clicking on the "edit" button at the top right of each page. Please note that WikiFundi require you to create an account.
If you need help on how to do that and on the syntax to use, please look at how to edit a page, how to write your first article, and how to format a page. You can see how to construct and arrange articles looking at our article showcase. Its also a good idea to check out the Wikipedia's Manual of Style and Words to watch. You may also choose to experiment in the Sandbox.

Ask at the Baobab

Across the continent, the baobab tree is traditionally used as a place to hold important discussions that affect the community. On this page you can discuss any tasks or questions you have about the editing process. These questions can be answered by your facilitator, or your friends or fellow students. Wikipack Africa

Wikipack Africa is an action pack that contains the WikiFundi editing platform, materials and content that facilitates the outreach work done by local Wikimedia chapters, local Wikimedia User Group or isolated individuals in African countries. The pack allows for training and contribution to continue when technology, access and electricity outages fail or are not available at all.
